Endgame of Empires offers a multi-layered discussion on the demise of multi-ethnic empires and the emergence of new polities in the former Ottoman and Russian empires. What global processes led to the downfall of an empire-based international order? What sort of continuities shaped new polities' social and political structure? What imperial legacies lingered even when the empires were long gone? With expert scholars working on different regional contexts, Endgame of Empires explores the global story of empires’ twilight.
