The Future is Not a Grave

The Future Is Not a Grave convenes artists and scholars to examine futurisms and futurescapes across the MENA, the Gulf and Indian Ocean worlds. We explore artistic utopianism, stories of human adaptability, and designs for more equitable ways of living as collective antidotes to climate despair and political catastrophe. Grounded in the conviction that communities rely on artists to imagine otherwise, the project treats historical and contemporary futurisms as research tools that cut across disciplines, opening new possibilities for knowledge, practice, and social imagination.
