Unscreening Media: Towards Planetary Perspectives for Screen Studies in Times of Crises

Screen media is a primary mode by which humans understand the world, yet screen studies remains largely trapped within the very epistemologies that contributed to existential crises—climate, democracy, finance, migrant, representation—and unknown future faced by students. Unscreening Media: Towards Planetary Perspectives for Screen Studies in Times of Crises explores how faculty might bring renewed urgency to cultural, digital, and media literacy towards understanding how these entwined crises operate and how they might be addressed.
